Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

What state would you choose to fish Bluegill if you could only pick one?

We are fortunate to have members from all over this great nation...One of my favorite things about Bigbluegill.com is the instant connection with the people that love and enjoy the same things that I do when it comes to all things Bluegill from folks all over the country.....Many of us have also had the great experience of fishing several different states whether vacationing, traveling for work or as a result of moving..... If you could pick one state to fish Bluegill, what state would it be and why? Thanks for sharing and I expect this may be a difficult choice for some and very easy for others.....Again, thanks in advance!

Sounds good Ray........how have you done this winter? Thanks in advance

We did well on the red ear and big gills considering we had a mild winter. But found some new areas to explore this summer.

Good deal Ray.......catch a lot this spring/summer.......let us know how you do!

Alabama...   HUGE Bluegills by the millions, cheap living, no crime where I live, can't beat it.  smile

Can't argue with Alabama.......understand Riverman! Thanks for the reply!

Welcome to all the new members.........let's hear about why you joined and what state is your favorite for bluegill fishing?

Welllll.....kinda late, but here goes,

We are pestering quite a few  at Clearlake, Ca right now with the big'uns being 11"-12".

Florida fascinates us too.....especially with all the variety there.

      Hard choice for sure.....

         ....lee s.

Never too late Lee! Can't say I blame you on either selection....thanks for sharing! Jeff

Florida ,I spent my teen years in south Florida particularly Ft .Lauderdale the venice of America and so many canals and waterways but especially the Everglades .

Bob, what about the phosphate mining pits a little further north in Florida.  They produce some nice largemouth bass.

Sounds great Jesse.....

i never sent much time in north florida but the cross Florida canal always interest me because since it was never completed i suspect maybe few know about it or fish it , i may be wrong.
