For those considering this trip, let me assure you KY Lake is one of the best redear fisheries. Big redear started showing up a couple of years after they reported that zebra mussels had invaded. This was during the decade I worked as a fishing guide there. I saw quite a few redear up to three pounds, lots around 2 pounds. Redear of a pound became nothing to brag around.

Ron you need to come guide us.  LOFR

This is whats for lunch!  LOFR

BOY WOULD I LIKE TO SEE A FEW OF THESE AT RENDEZVOUS THIS YEAR !!!!!!!! THOUGHT these monsters were only in Barkley .......

hey Ron;; you know of any good spots to fish at there??  come  join us at the rendevou!!

guys!!!  take a good look at the pix Ron put up on this post!!   NICE SIZE REDDIES!!!

Thanks fellas. I'm seriously considering joining you, but there is so much going on outdoors at that time, so I'm not making a commitment yet. Bluegill were the first thing I ever caught, and I still love to fish for them. The picture I posted was just a nice redear. Actually caught it in Lake Barkley, now that I think of it, but they are sister lakes, and I've caught much larger from KY Lake. I guided on the upper portion of the lake, around Jonathan Creek, but I've fished out of Camden a few times for bass. I now live in Missouri and guide float fishermen on the Black and Current rivers. I have a couple of mountain lakes around me with good bluegill (pictured), but nothing like KY and Barkley lakes.

what did you catch these on Ron?/  what bug;; or fly??   hope you do make it to the rendevou!!
