could not get this guy to hold still.that is a sz 12 spider he took and look what he was swimming around with in his face.got into some 8-9 inch red ears this morning.about the 5th or 6th one i caught was this poor guy.got that big hook out of him and he swam away

That critter had a mouthful!
I've lost my share of hooks, lures and flies in fish. They say the hooks rust away, at least the non-stainless ones.
Still, it does my heart good to see you pitch in and help the little bugger that way.

Wow. Whatever was at the end of that hook, that must be some massive piece of bait.

That big hook looks like a trotline hook.  Sunnies are commonly used for trotline bait.

no trotlines at this place but i do believe he was being used for bait.have a few big flatheads in here
