Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Hey everyone, my rod is stuck together and I can't get it apart. I've tried several things, and nothing worked. Right now I'm pretty much looking for any and all suggestions if you have them. Thanks guys!

Did you try running hot water over it?

I had a hot cup of water and a towel wrapped around it, but i don't know if i let it on there for long enough. But i'm currently doing it again with some ice on the other  ferrule and i'm letting it sit for a bit before trying again.

Chris, use a little penetrating oil, place rod behind your knees, hold rod with your hands on both sides of the ferrel, you should have your hand tight to the sides of your knees, then spread your knees apart hold on to the rod.   LOFR

I tried some WD40 earlier today, but then moved to ice cubes and I just got one section off about five minutes ago. One more to go!

Well, the rod is unstuck now. Used ice cubes on one ferrule and a hot rag on the other and put between the knees and pulled.

Now before you put your rod back together again… rub the "male" side of the ferrel over your nose and/or through your hair… the oil from your skin should be enough to lubricate it so it won't stick.

Hopefully your talking about a Fly Rod not sure.

A little late here is a good video:
