Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

How many people on Big Bluegill use beetle spins or Blakemore Road Runner?

i was just wondering how many people on Big Bluegill use beetle spins or Blakemore Road Runner? i think they are a wonderful bluegill lure and you can catch huge bluegills on them. what is your favorite color, where do you like to fish them, and what time of year? i would really appreciate your feedback.

I've caught more fishing the jig only instead of the whole rig....
Used Roadrunner yesterday in small public pond and didn't get any gill action but did catch 5 crappie... Lots of fun casting and reeling too !
I tried a Beetle Spin this evening.
1/32 oz., black head/#1 spinner, 'Wildcat Purple/Gold'
Charlie Brewer Crappie Slider grub. The tail on this grub was malformed, so I cut it off. This makes it the same shape as regular B-S grub.
I got one short strike, but no further action.
I think the water may still be a bit too cold.

I can catch gills in my pond on Beetle Spins but rarely on anything other than white or yellow. The bigger blue gills seem to want a very slow retrieve.
