The best part about this discussion is the fact that all of these locations are still available to the public.....Acres and acres of land disappear to public use every year but we are still fortunate to have thousands of miles of waterways available to pursue our passion......As a bluegill freak, this is an important commodity and we should do all we can to protect it for the future....Hope everyone that views these pictures will enjoy and imagine a little peace and tranquility not far from my front door!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR POSTING THESE PICS JEFFREY!!!!! ONE thing that struck me in most of the pics was lack of wind , basically and they all look like fly rod paradise!!!!!!!!!!! Another thing no houses ! I guess if I had to pick the most scenic it would be Yeopim and Little river. Guess it wouldn't always have to be terrific fishing , but scenery goes along way on making a successful outing in my estimation. They are all great looking and you are truly a lucky man to have the habitat you have to fish...............

Thanks Tooty.......glad you enjoyed it.....I do feel fortunate to have all the locations close by but isn't it also crazy that so many different areas look so much alike......Most of these rivers do have some residents but not in the deep  sections of the Dismal Swamp.

All great looking pictures and I hope that Tooty gets to fish most of them when he makes the trek south. Love the lillypads ,what great looking gill locations.Jeffery tell Tooty the lakes are calm because you on the rivers early in the morning and late in the evenings........ hehe

Absolutely....especially when it gets hotter...got to beat the heat for the best top water bite....I was taught by men that loved to fly fish....First light and dusk were always our favorite times.....

I'm worried about the first Cottonmouth that swims by the boat.....or maybe a gator! LOL

Jeffery, that's my idea of fly fishing heaven.  No wonder you are fishing almost everyday.  So many prime targets.  Hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Thanks Rex.....I grew up in southern Louisiana thinking a bluegill was on every cypress knee.....each region is beautiful for different reasons......close to sea level around here and swampy....so lots of cypress trees and tupelo gums to wet a line.....lots of wildlife in these regions including good numbers of black bears which I see often along the way......I look forward to the day when I can fish every day if desired! LOL

Sometimes it's about the beauty of the journey......you gotta' love the great outdoors!

Beautiful areas and great memories for you I'm sure Jeffrey!
