Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Hi All. I've attached a picture of my first gill on the poppers I recently created. It's only 7 1/2", and tiny by your standards, but it's my first. It seemed that the gills could have cared less when the stick-on eyes fell off the popper. They just kept on attacking the bug.

Still rewarding to catch fish on your hand made poppers Bruce....That has to add some satisfaction to the catch....Congrats!

Congrats! Now you wont know weather to fish or head to the tying bench :)

Congrats on your first one on a popper. It's a ball seeing them come up and take it off the surface.

It was fun watching the top water action. Thanks for all of your help, Big Bluegill Family, I'll be asking many more questions.

welcome to the dark side bruce

That is the first of many I am sure!  That topwater action is second to none in my book and when the water warms up there is nothing better.  Congrats!

Not much better than Gills and Pseeds on Poppers and sliders! On your own handmade popper though ,THAT DOES make it better!

Hey John. When do you better with poppers and bluegill, in the Spring?

June /July is when I use them Bruce.http://bigbluegill.com/photo/albums/flyrod-2012

Congrats Bruce !!     ......But now it's like Jim and Lee said.......welcome to the dark side....do I fish or tie....lol

nice love fishing poppers
