Yep. Walmart brand, octopus #6 & #8. Ordered some of Gamakatsu #10 and #12 (red and octopus)..can't find these in stores.

Beside circle hooks, you can also use salmon egg hooks #6 and #8. Just as good for the small panfishes and stocked trouts. Not so good with larger fishes (gut hooked). Easy extraction through the gills method..but I did have two fatalities: stocked trout 7", and a 2lbs bass that got greedy. That went deep..and I mean deep.

thanks leo.. im gonna give them a try this spring along with a quill float.. im kinda set in my ways but wanting to experiment alittle..

oh yeah, when i got my hands on circle hooks, i also got my hands on more fish. ;)

Leo, as we have discussed before about both of us having bad eyesight. wait till you try to retie one of those #12 reds out in the wind, with light line.I found them at Dicks sporting goods.

Dwayne, I completely agree with you. I got a few #14 aberdeen red I got from the local Bass Pro Shop. 2lbs flouro during a bright, yet windy day, can be a literal pain in the eye sockets. I had to use my shade to see the line in order to thread it due to heavy glare, while keeping one eye open to monitor the surrounding so I don't ram into things around me because I drift. I feel your pain about poor eye sight. I can barely see 3 ft in front me me without my glasses.
