Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

0800 8/24 Full day for gills and cats 63° 0 wind (part 1)

Howdy Y’all

Well the son is out of town for a school trip so we have a full day for fishing.

Off we went at 0800 to Lake Norfork with our gill and cat gear, started slow and the wind picked up but we still pulled 4 keepers out 1 7” and 3 8” and shock of shocks a Redear in the bar area which was a first here.

We’ve caught Greens, Gills, Longear and cat but no Redear till today.

Lovely day really mild morning we fished till 1300 and the heat was mild till the wind died but we went home to rest and clean fish for our evening/night fishing trip.

Had a really windy section come thru as a front moved thru killed the bite, not much boat traffic either so the wave action was minor.

Water level at Norfork is way down we’re standing on the rock selves that we caught fish on not more than a two weeks ago. There seems to be some evidence of nests that were used during the last spawn but hard to tell the lowering water and wave action could have cleared the gravel.

Well more from part 2.

Yours in service

James and Kathy
