Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Here are some squirmy "volunteers" from the yard. These came from beneath a 40 gal. plastic barrel sitting by the garden. I just move the barrel, and then tickle my fingers through the grass/soil beneath. Its kinda like scratching your scalp.

The crawlers don't seem to enjoy the disturbance, and come slithering up out of their burrows.... and I grab them. This pile of future fish bait came from under one of the four such that I have. They now reside in the West Creek Vermiculite Experimental Station, aka, my worm bin! LOL

They are normally shipped in a porous vinyl bag, allow air to exchange during shipping, packed with the original compost materials they came from. The box usually is a plain USPS box with the size of the bag to minimize cost. Most of them survive the trip. Some..not so much.

I keep them on the back porch to prevent ants and other
"spoilers" from getting to them.
Wondering how they are mailed. Would it be possible to collect a mess and send them
to you?

All too well. This is the shorter of the two. They are awesome live bait to be used.

They do jump around when you touch then.
They are very frantic when handled; sometimes its hard to
get ahold of them. So I take it you recognize them?

Tasty as worms are, you still gotta' wash 'em down with something. I prefer Mountain Dew or a Mello Yello.

Bob, as much as the fish love these, I've never developed a taste for them.
The pan is just something I grabbed to put them in. When I move anything that has been
sittingin the grass, I can expect to find some wigglers. This time I found a
LOT, and snatched up the closest thing I could find.
