I hear you David. I've fished my own ponds for 40 years and I'm still discovering aspects that I wasn't aware of.
Okay, this one needs a little amendment - I now live just a stones throw from Lake Murray, in Leesville, SC. My wife and I moved there from Aiken, SC in the summer, snagging a little downsized place that is right for us. My only reason for moving there WAS it's proximity to Lake Murray.
I get to the lake as often as I can, sometimes every day. It is a totally different thing to actually live close enough to such a place that you can learn a few of its secrets. At the same time it is soooo big that I could never learn it all.
Beautiful she is!!
Tony Alexander and David have probably seen this sunrise before.......
Jeffrey, you need to start your own scenery forum collection. Just gorgeous! Perfect to hang over the fire place.
Is this why you moved close to Lake Murray David?....or the good fishing....maybe both!
I lived in the Low Country from 1982 through 1995 (Summerville, SC)......I was first taken to Lake Murray by a friend in the Navy and it was always a great time.....I caught beautiful gills back in day in Lake Murray.....
Yes it is a beautiful lake Jeffery. I lived there from 1977 - 1993 (Chapin, SC) Still noted for fine strper fishing, I always enjoyed bluegill fishing up around the area called the "gap". Close to Billy Dreher Island State Park, this is where the Saluda River opened up into the lake. Those were the days!!!
I love Lake Murray. I've always caught fish there. I dont get up there as much as Id like, though, because I've been making do for some time with only my raggedy little truck. It's really more of a local run kind of vehicle. Im with Jeff, though - I would rather be there in a boat than not.
