Live minnows are the favorite technique in this region but tipped jigs catch quite a few fish...it's rare that I don't catch a couple while fishing for gills here in Carolina....The big ones are a January/February thing here in coastal North Carolina.......

Little Sweeties! Up here in Jersey they are actively chasing and hitting spinners but the jig is the most productive way to catch a yellow I think!
