Pretty good day fishing. This is one of the nicer ones. Nothing over 8 1/2. Not too bad for around here. Some were ready to spawn again. Went through an entire jar of Gulp 1" minnows.

Yes, drop shotting but I cheat a little. I tie up 3-hook drop shot rigs which is legal here. Doubles are not uncommon but have never caught 3 at once.

nice healthy looking gill!... 8.5" is a bragger around here too... takes our state 6-8 years to grow one that size.
i like the minnows also.. with chartreuse being the best color...
