Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Got my Hi-vis 2 lb test line spooled on, my polaroids on and my forceps ready... but the fish were not ready. Need a few more warm weather days.

Slow reports or not, I actually I met a fellow fisherman here that was not too far from me that caught 2 big bass, a 5 pounder and a 7 pounder!  And I thought I knew the lake!..  But I'm a pan fisherman right?

Jeff, you look like you were ready for business

Jen, indeed, it's urban. It's one of the two small manmade lakes, just 5 minutes walking distant from my home, and up the streets for Jeff. Very slow reports from this are, and no more stocked fish from DFG.

Poor Jeff, all dressed up and no where to go!!!!!! I thought it was always warm in California!!!!

That's so wicked looking Jeff. The hi-vis line is glowing like neon with the hue cranked up like that.

Oh, okay. I recall the many pepper trees lining roads, growing up in California.

Comment by Jeff Soto on April 27, 2012 at 8:24pm

No- they are Bald Cypress trees.  29 of them that line the lake along the street.  They have giant roots that are out in the lake, and that's were the fish are.
