Bruce, note the white lining around the ear tab....that's from the redear genes....

Bruce, these fish aren't pure bluegill....evidently they're crossed with a redear sunfish (shellcracker)..gillcracker is the typical label for this particular combination of species...

David, almost anything 8"+ with that light rod is a battle....I've got a rod a lot lighter but it's almost too light...it's so flimsy that I sometimes find it hard to get a decent hookset....anybody have any insight into this? Thanks
