HEY DICK,

IS LEO coming to Ohio for lesson with a fly rod? I may have to make an Eastern Journey for that one if you'll allow pond access!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could even bring my tying stuff and do a hands on demo for you , but only if you'll allow me to attempt to empty your pond of pesky bluegills and redears! Just teasing buddy.

BY THE WAY ALL OF YOU EAGER TO LEARN, THERE ARE NO SECRETS HERE ONLY 30+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE . Lots of folks have secrets about how they do stuff, not me. I learned the hard way . Some other folks want to seem aloof or know it alls , or even worse essoterick , (only for some to enjoy) , but not me . I DO NOT KNOW EVERYTHING AND AM THE FIRST TO ADMIT IT !!!!!!!! WISH I DID cause I'd be writing books!

Thanks to all who showed interest and just stand by for a little bit.

HELLO DAVID, LEO AND JEFFERY,

YEP I TAKE LLLLLLLLLLLOTS OF BUGS !!!!!!!!!! GOOD FOR THE POCKET BOOK AND like having money in the bank. I'll do my best on the bug tying and pics , howerver being old , feeble, stupid , and cranky it may take a couple days to figure out the pic posting again! I will do my best.

Leo one thing at a time, bugs first and then rods because the rods will be much more time consuming so be patient and I'll try my best. I wish I was as adept at taking pics and posting em as I am at making bugs.
Maybe I can find some young lass round abouts here and have her video the bugs and rods!  Let me check into that Leo and if you see videos instead of pics you'll know what happened.

You take as many flies as I take crickets Tooty....that's funny, don't care who you are!

Tooty,

Please do the bug tying, picture posting. That would be great.

Tooty, post the photo according what you think is best. One photo at a time, or a series of them. Up to you. Same with the rods. I'm eagerly to learn.

LEO  as far as making rods there is no difference between the construction of graphite or bamboo. The only differnce would be in guide placement. I CAN HELP WITH THAT!  When I was making custom graphite or completely redueing the cork on bamboo I did it the old fashioned way of glueing the cork pieces one piece at a time . Actually just fit em all then glue em all and compress em all and then when dry turn the handles down to shape. I never used the made up grips available now . TOO many issues with that  method IMHO!

LEO, how about if I was to take pics of the different steps in the tying procedure and post em on that fly tying group. If that will work I'm only about a week or two to have it done , WITH LUCK!!!!!!!!!! I can take decent photos but in reality I'm poor at loading em on the computoid!!!!!
