A good way to find ponds 7 Replies

I'll admit, I'm lazy.  Why expend a lot of effort and gas trying to find ponds, when all you have to do is open up Google Earth, zoom in on your area, and start looking?I know that I've found a LOT…Continue

Here are a couple shots of the ponds that have been very good to me this year...

Small 1/2 acre pond deep in the woods on public land...bass to 4 lbs and gills nearing 10 inches. I actually helped build this in the mid 1990's.

A father and son team fish during one of my classes at this 2 acre public gem that hold 11 inch shellcrackers and quality gills and bass.

Another public lake, 8 acres, with some 8-9 inch gills and rumored huge bass...open for shoreline fishing.

I fished this 5 acre irrigation pond in Sept...bass to 18 inches. My teen age friend who got me in there has caught several bass to almost 7 pounds here.

Another neat little pond near Gettysburg PA that has shellcrackers and gill crackers in high number with some 20 inch largemouths

All these little ponds are just great fishing and close to home....who could want more?

SIGNS YOU COULD BE A POND BUM !!!!!

#1 YOU make sure , if you are retired , that you leave home for the day before the boss gets home from work.

#2 You don't take time to tie your shoe laces for fear of being caught leaving...

#3 When you discover you've left your favorite lawn chair behind after 10 minutes on the road to the pond , ya turn around to go get it......

#4 Afraid you forgot some gear all the way there !!!!!!! BAD FEELING

#5 IF YOU know for sure the night before you are going fishing , you forget to tell the boss you might be late for supper ........ ESPECIALLY BAD ONE HERE

ANYONE CAN AD THEIR LISTS ON HERE CAUSE I KNOW SOME ARE THINGS I HAVEN'T THOUGHT OF YET.........
