A wooly bugger is fine I haven't done any yet. I have so many things I want to do I just have a hard time realizing I'm just getting started and have to ease into them.
I have a request but I think I'll wait till everyone gets settled in.
Supper Allen - dig through your box I'd like to see some of the one you are talking about buddy
On Wooly Buggers, I tend to use bead chain for "eyes" more than a bead head. You can also use a cone head bead.
Wooly Buggers are one of those things you should always have in your fly box. I have several; some in Olive, some in Chartreuse, and a couple in Black. I've found that the Olive color, with the bead chain, tends to imitate a dragonfly nymph, and gets inhaled. I've even caught LMB on those in a size 8. I've tied some Chartreuse ones, as I've noticed that Green Sunfish will attack anything in that color. Black Wooly Buggers are a good Leach imitation, so in waters where leaches are present can be good.
Here is a link on how to tie a Wooly Burger... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5vMStjCwok&feature=channel&... Feel free to find a link that suits you. There allot of them out there.
Two weeks from today we will be tying the (Backstabber carp fly ) This is to Carp like the Adams fly is to Trout.
I will be tying this fly and hope other will tie it and post their ties..

Hi Rick thanks for the post on the flies , both do a great job on the tying vid and are easy to understand.Ps my pic thats me holding a jawbreaker and fish
Sounds like a good Idea Tooty - I'll work on that for a start. Anyone interested in learning on how to tie or just need a refresher on a Wooly Bugger just send me a message. What else you all like might like to see. I know Jim G in interest in Carp flies so that could be our second fly to tie- Jim can you pick one and I will tie it or you can, what do you think Jim?. Send me PM on other flies you would like to see tied and I add them to the list of future flies to be tied in advance so folks know what is coming up. During that time I will be tying and posting various flies.
