My tying bench - build over a six foot folding table- very protable with wheels on the base.

I have the same applicator bottle.  I bought mine full of head cement.  I never could get it to squirt some head cement through the tube.

I switched over to SH about 5 - 6 weeks ago.  I've just been using the bottle it came in, although I've trimmed the bristles on the brush a bit.  I've had to add a little acetone to it as I emptied it, though, to thin it down.

Here is the aplicator bottle I use with SH Hard as Nails

I agree with Prince Leo - I have used hard of nails for a long time and  it is the head cement of choice for allot of tiers. I also thin mine down with acetone so I can use it in a small dropper bottle...

Bullworm- welcome to the group.

I'll post a pic whenever I can get a better camera.  I've been watching Davie McPhail's vids for a few months now.

I bought another tote to store stuff in today.  Moved most of the "tools" and other hardware to that one.  In the process, found a spool of Opal holographic tinsel.  Might use that for a Scud pattern.

Allen - pls post a picture of the size 16 Scud - I see you are also on Davie McPail freinds list.

Yup.  I work with knives for a living :)

I've tied up a couple more Scuds this evening.  I did a size 12 with the clear plastic.  Not terribly impressed with it.  I also tied up a size 16 in Olive with the Holographic Flashabou.  That looks good.

Good job Allen - and you still have all your body parts?

Comment by Allen Morgan on December 14, 2012 at 4:43pm

Well, I have 15 razors on my zonker cutter now.  I shredded a qt-size ziplock baggie for use as shellback material.  Not all of the "slices" turned out.  Sometimes the plastic would catch on a blade.  But, I did get enough good strips to tie A BUNCH of Scuds.  I'll have to do a few to get an idea of the difference between holographic mylar and clear plastic.
