I think a 5-gallon bucket rates as classic, old-fart form. Yet, it is being popularized by some of todays younger farts.

Push button reels, quill bobbers and the classic Rapala fillet knife, wood handle, are also dead give-a-ways to the OF Club. Black and white photos are also a strong characteristic. Must I say split-bamboo, cat-gut line and wooden plugs?

You guys ever notice that ole Marlin knew just when to call in his sidekick, Jim??

"And now, Jim will jump out of the helicopter, land on the galloping , furious, Wildebeest and wrestle it to the ground. Then I will run up and decide that we really need a bigger specimen"

Used to love that show, but even as a kid I could tell who drew the short straw!

yep;; im a old fart to tooty!!  and Tony;; I remember the Mutal of Ohama;; marlin Perkins to!!  in fact;; did you ever see a cowboy movie called; Red Ryder;; with his Indian side kick;; Little Beaver??  I go WAY WAY back!!

I believe she has the Purist 7ft something inches, and I have the 5'8". She likes longer rods, including the spare 8ft 4 inches. Her only answer is, "I like the whipping sound." Hm..Is it the old fart in me or I'm hearing "I like S&M"?
