You’ll have to overlook my ignorance and no, I’m not too proud to admit it. Growing up; I always thought a bluegill was a bluegill and a shell cracker was a big ole bluegill. I had no idea there were…Continue

Midge flies for Gills 1 Reply

These flies are really Trout flies, but the gills will "inhale them". ( they can swallow them deep very easily ) I carry an "unhookem-tool" and usually need it. These flies are  easy to tie except…Continue

Tying the Pot-Luck sinking spider

This is a simple spider to tie, I will do a picture step x step rather than a video. I tied this one on a size 10 2x hook, in a gill favorite color "Olive". Keep it simple with tight wraps and I am…Continue

Get yourself a redneck measuring tape. I would put a picture of it here, but I can no longer put pictures with a group comment. I hope Bruce can fix that. Anyway, you can find it in my pictures under Redneck Measuring Tape

Thanks guys. Always enjoy fly fishing for CN's, especially when I can get down to the black rivers in South Carolina and Georgia. Sharon, I do not know! As I don't have a tape measure or scales in my boat. Guess I need to hit BassPro and get something to measure with!!!

Two members good. I should have sent an invite to all members when I set up this group. Now, I don't see any way of doing that. Guess they will have to find it on their own. Welcome to the group.

So lime is like magic?  I was wondering where Coppernose Bluegills came from!  JK!   You know Sharon,  we might end up being the only members of this group.  I mean you don't fish for this sub-species any different than a regular Northern Bluegill, nor do they taste any different... But, they sure do seem to grow larger and faster and I think they are just beautiful.
