Any updates on your ponds?
To Sharon, yes I do , but I dont do it often cause I dont want to effect the growth rate as Zach has said. But When I have family over for fishing I turn off the auto feeder for about 3 days before we fish. When we are done I start back feeding them immediately
The only problem with that is they will not grow as fast.
I have not had problems with mine biting.
My catfish are more hook shy thought
Sharon u may be going thu the same issue as I am. My pond is full of nice coppernose but they aren't biting. But when I feed them I watch them eat in a frinzzy. And they are all bigger than my hands. It seems they are hook shy. I hear thats pretty easy to happen with small ponds. And You are like me, you fish everyday. And thats what creates that problem. Try as many different baits as possible or stop fishing for a while. That should help
if they were not large enough they could have ate them.
you may just need to toss on the bank or try eat the small ones and get them out
it is hard to do as I have the same problem, I plan to get a rechargable filet knife and take it with me.
I will let my kids tackle the fish and I will clean them while I am there.
They will cook up like tater chips but tasty they will be yes!
are you still feeding your fish?
If so what feed are you using, you should start see some nice ones by now?
when was the last time you stocked fish and what size were they?
I thought you put in some coppernose but can not remember, plus those hybrids ought to grow quick at least for the first few years, which should get them to eating size anyway.
