I paint all my sinkers for ice fishing Dipping in rust-oleum works well for me. Also I have been adding marabou to my hooks. I don't if it helps but it does not hurt

Got some big slabs last year under those conditions but we have had a series of cold fronts and the fish haven't turned on yet. Hopin to get out onr evening this week if weather co-ops.

Comment by IceWarriorGill on February 15, 2009 at 3:52pm: I've had luck with 1/64 or smaller jigs tipped with waxies or mealworms on either 4 lbs or 2 lbs test line (go with 2 lbs for ultra clear water and/or heavily pressured Gills)!!! No doubt the Gulp would act as a great scent additive as well just as Jim recommended!!
