Thanks Bruce. Would be nice to have a float/toon gathering. Almost impossible, just a thought.

I have an old float tube a buddy gave me. I used it once. I didn't have fins, and got in deeper water on a windy day. I was helpless as I drifted away. I ended up putting a heavy jig on my fishing line, and cast in the direction I wanted to go. I managed to snag the bottom, pull myself to that spot, and then cast again....until I made it back to shore! Lesson learned. Fins are essential.

This year, I sold my Lund fishing boat, and bought a Hobie Mirage Outback kayak.

It has the quiet Mirage pedal-drive and flip & stow rudder. I installed a fishfinder with the transducer mounted inside the hull. Works great! Even handles well in fairly windy weather and waves!

If you had to do it again - what would you look for in a FT?

I'd like to join, but I use a Creek Company ODC816 pontoon to fish from. Does this qualify?

I attended a flot tube regatta this past weekend at Walnut, and I do sincerely apologize for not advertising it here. Maybe we could co-ordinate one. Im not available every weekend (stupid work) but I am available most days after 4:00. And all would be invited, tubers, kayakers, pontooners, boaters and bank fishermen/women and kids of all ages.

I'd like to join, because I LOVE float tubing for 'gills. It is my favorite way to catch them. I just saw an ad the other night in the Cabela's catalog for a pontoon style inflatable rig. I had enough Cabela's points to buy it. Does that count too? Should I post a picture?
