I would have thought there would be lots of discussions extolling the merits of the vintage tackle! Oh well any one wants to talk a bit about vintage Shakespeare Wonderods I"m the dude! SPinning or fly I have em both and use em both. Well I actually have many and use em all at one time or another.

it is a pflueger 1494 it is made in the USA so it was worth the 2.00 I paid for it I have picked up some great deal in yard sales

Howard...what are the markings on your reel...looks like a pflueger...If so, there should be some markings on the ivory cover plate...a lot can be done to those reels which a lot of people use..a old standard in fly reels...good find!!
