Another easy fly. Estaz Spoon fly. Tail is maribou, color your choice
Body- estaz
The hook is bent downward 1/3 of the way back from the eye ,add lead wraps between that bend and the eye. This will caust the hook to ride point up.

This is a simple ant pattern.
The body is a rubber shelf liner, walmart has it. Cut out 2 rubber bumps , tied in at the middle.
Dry fly hackle- 2 or 3 wraps for legs
You can add a wing for visibility.
This one was tied in a size 14 dry fly hook

Great. I'll give it a shot. I'm sure the wire rib will really stand out on that purple fly. Thanks Greg.

Steve I am not sure of the hook size. I got an assortment pack of those hooks so not sure but it was the larger of the assortment. lol. On the curved caddis nymph hook size ten. Friend gave me some size 6 curved hooks for a really big worm. One thing I forgot to add after wrapping the body forward Wrap wire inbetween the segment of the rubber body. Gives it a real segmented look.

Nice looking fly Greg. Another fly to start tying! What size hook do you tie the worm on?
Comment by Greg McWilliams on September 6, 2009 at 7:05pm
Okay yo-folk , lets see another. Bionic worm is one of many worm flies, easy to tie. Fished on floating line with or without a strike indcater ( fly rod cork), or on a intermediat sinking line, strip and pause, gills seam to like it on the drop.

If the picture loads this is the Bionic Worm
This is tied on a shrimp hook saw it tied on a curved cadis hook. It is tied with a maribou tail, The body is rubber skirt from a buzz bait or hula popper, wrapped up the shank tojust behind the eye. Just a few wraps of lead substitute, or a bead head. Colors are up to your imagination, but pink won the gill race. Now lets see if the picture loads.
