Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Anytime two or more rods are place within 4 feet of each other they will become hopelessly tangled within 15 minutes. Is there a term for this other that BLEEP BLEEP BLEEPING BLEEP!!

YEP THEY CALL IT THE " TROY GROVE TANGLE" I'M FROM TROY GROVE and thought I was the only one with messes like that!  That's why I only use one rod at a time now. I carry 4-6 rods in my truck, but only one at a time in the water!

the "troy grove tangle" love it.

HEY JACOB, I'M A PROFESSIONAL AT TANGLES!!!!!!

I may have to call an exorcist. I leaned my 5 wt. up against the truck and when I turned to light my pipe I swear I heard an evil chuckle. Turning back around My fly rod and three ultra lights were snarled in a hopeless mess.

It must be the line leprechaun at it again...

In scientific field, the wind + water current create an entanglement of line due to circulatory cycle of water currents near the shallow areas based on wind direction, influenced by the rapid deep to shallow water break effects. Unless you have heavy weights to hold down the line in one location, drifting lines will create the entanglement.

However, in fishing beliefs, the malicious spirits of the caught fish (that became our dinners) came back to teach the fish to grab our lines and tangle them up just for the heck of it. Or..the gremlin that lives on your shoulder is play trick with you again. My specialized wind knots are a proof of that testament.

Leo, you need to come down here and fish some of my waters.  The fish here are getting smart, I tell you.  They are getting hooked, and actually fighting hard enough to spool you.  All their fishy friends then help to gather that line, and tangle into a hopeless mass in high-pressure spots, solely to entangle, enmesh, and generally render said area unfishable to anything with a hook.

I know it's true!  Many times I've gotten snagged, and start walking backwards with my rig.  I'll feel a snap-snap-pop-give a little-snap.  Each time I feel a snap, I gain a few inches.  After a couple minutes, I finally break the snarl of line free of the bottom, and recover a huge mass of line, complete with hooks, sinkers, floats, and/or lures embedded into the snarl.

Yep..sounds right. Tony, Walt, and Bruce can possibly validate how smart the fish in their ponds are getting. We need to get a few brainwave oscillating detector and hook up to the fish. If plants can emote and react, imagine the fish species that had been evolved mentally and physically as long as the plants have. They may have gotten smaller in body size, but surely, they also gotten a lot smarter..

Okay..okay..the ones that were our dinner were the foolish young ones..the elusive ones are the one that create havoc on our fishing expeditions.
