Do you love big bluegill?
Fisherman’s Christmas Poem
Merry Christmas to all and all a happy new year
With new lakes on our minds we can fish without fear
Were filled with the knowledge of old lakes of past
With room for improvement knowing our knowledge will last
We figure our lake and study or maps
Looking for bars, weed beds, and humps, and grass
We know if we studied and completed our goal
We’ll catch many of them fish we’ve all come to know
It comes in all species and catching is great
We fish till were pleased and never hesitate
Never hesitate we do for that one more cast
Hoping it never comes and last and last and last
We love our fishing for obvious reasons
We fish them happily all through the seasons
Winter, Spring, Summer, and fall
It all fun to us an always a ball
We fish with our jigs we fish with our flies
We fish till we catch and once and awhile a tiny white lie
We love this old sport we started when young
The older we get it’s still so much fun
We fish in the morning and noon and night
Setting that hook when that floats out of site
It always an experience that pleasing and true
Love this old sport in the red white and blue
So remember this poem I’m writing to you
It’s one thing we have in common fishing how simple and true
With friends to share in our experience a must
Oh what a beautiful, beautiful rush
Till next year with our new found memories galore
We’ll fish in the waters we all just adore
We’ll fish long and hard for that beautiful thrill
For that great little fish known as the majestic Bluegill.
It’s always a thrill and always so nice
Oh no I got to go I just seen some ice

Great poem Dick! A bit of artistic shift from flies inventing to words formulating.
A merry Christmas to all, and to all a great year,
From our family to yours, in great blessings and good cheer.
A glorious end to a few seasons past,
With unseasonable weathers, a few months they will last.
Eagered spirits, BBG family awaits,
Twitching fingers, restless feet, chilled bodies we hate;
Restlessness, we end up surfing the net 'til late.
To all, let those fishes rest,
Let's gather at the warm fire place within our nests,
Enjoy each other's warm embraces,
Remember the precious moments, and those wonderful faces.
For time flies by in the blink of an eye,
Let's finish the bucket list, and let loose a great sigh.
Merry Christmas, and a glorious New Year,
With my glass raised, and from me, a wondrous cheer.
Leo you to a poet, sometime we have to just set back and let our thoughts fly.

This is just beautiful! It gave a little special somethin' extra to my Christmas Eve.
A sincere "Thank You", and a BBG feature!
Thanks Bruce didn't have any idea anyone would like it just something I threw together this morning. I am sure some of the thoughts some of us can relate to in one way or another and was a pleasure to do. I ain't lying it brought back great memories, I guess we all still have some of them. Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas, Dick! May God bless you and your family in a mighty way this year!
Thank you Jim, you know I am so blessed in oh so many ways, the biggest blessing of all is Linda who's been with me and looked over me shared my life for almost 50 years and really never complained all them day's and weekends I left for the lake and come back late. We are getting older together and she has fallen along the way but refuses to quit and now it's time for me to to look over her and its hard I can feel her pain but all I have to do is think back on the old days her setting on the back of the boat giggling as she reels in her fish and of coarse me having to take it off I really miss that, not just the fishing but the giggles that have now have fallen along the way as well. I am so blessed and so glad the lord spared her for me. She says her stroke has made her ugly but all I see is that beautiful 16 year old I eventually married I don't see any disfigurements she says she has just the beauty that will always be there. Thanks Jim and Merry Christmas to you and your family and above all God bless.
