Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Last year I picked up a dyed-green PT clump. It's about time I did something with it. Tied up some PT nymphs, size 16.

Mike, I've been loading my wire spools into a bobbin for awhile now, especially after I went to a rotary vise.  Makes it really easy to do the ribbing on flies.  I've seen a video on tying a Euro PT nymph by using wire for the thread.  Just haven't done it, yet.

Looks like a good BWO nymph, too.

Allen,

They are very easy to tie once you get used to working with the wire. I use a ceramic bobbin for the wire. Takes a little practice to get the "feel", but it isn't hard to tie with.

I should probably do some European PT Nymphs, just like what you describe.  I've seen them, just never did any.

Looks good!

I like to tie PT Nymphs the traditional way (just pheasant tail & copper wire), but they all catch fish!
