Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

It's supposed to be mid 60s and sunny but winds expected over 10 mph early afternoon; probably gust a bit higher on open water. Will be kayaking with a couple of buddies. So I am thinking either Harris or the inlet at Jordan and I am leaning strongly toward the inlet because of the possible wind and it is a more interesting paddle, but it might be easier to find some schooling fish at Harris if (big IF) we can stay over them and drift slow enough to get jigs down. But I think it will be the inlet.

In the description I linked to earlier, I mention it has multiple channels that split around islands and come back together in the lake. My plan A would be to find the merged channel and check the edges for schooled fish, then paddle up and follow split channels doing the same. Plan B is deep drop offs near shore. I caught fish earlier in the winter here blindly fishing near steep slope banks. Santa brought me a FF, so I could hopefully do this more effectively.

As always, thoughts welcome...

unfortunately i have no idea what geographically you are talking about, understand the keeping it on the low side of print but like to look at it on a map

can you maybe send it email

unfortuantely i am undergoing some heart issues and am in hosp in new bern,so all i got is this laptop and hoping for some warm weather

my santa gave me  portable hummingbird last christmas i sure like it

I only was cagey in my blog to be general about how to approach it. These two are not secret places.

This is the inlet:

and this is the lake where I would likely put in if I do that:

cool and thanks

No problem. You may have noticed you can back out and zoom in other places and if they have the data, they show it to you (like Lake James for example).

lake james sits on a park, i have thought of going to other side and finding a spot to camp and fish

got all i need

wonder

Go for the schools... don't fish till you find them.!

had occasion (not wanted but still ) to get admitted to hosp in new berne nc,  discharged sun driving over Trent river in hwy17 the place packed with cars and trailers and  trucks and trailers  must have been 20 or so
