Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Well, I can't say it's BBG site itself, but any site that uses Adobe Flash/Shockwave Player, Java modules, and mobile devices coding. For the non-geeks and non-nerds, you probably say, "Leo, layman's terms!", I'll break it down for you:

Adobe Contents:

If you see something pops up on your screen, saying, "Adobe Flash Player requires update", or "Adobe Shockwave Player requires update", or something like this:

Simply download it by clicking on the Download button to initiate the new update installation. Flash Player is required for you to see fancy slide shows of the BBG's members pages. You also need it to upload images, as well as see YouTube videos, not to mention various other video from different websites.

If you see something like this, not from visiting BBG site, you better FREEZE, back out, and close it down click by right clicking on the bottom of your window, and select CLOSE! (not the X button, not the close button, and definitely not the INSTALL button).

or

There is a major different between this popup and the previous "safe" popup from Adobe.

Java Contents:

If you see pop ups at the bottom right hand screen, or in the middle of the screen that appears like this:

or

Your Java engine is out of date, since newer browser versions requires more recent updates of Java code engine to run the web browser more smoothly. Java codes is all over the place, including the chat room, the pictures displaying on the right side of the screen, the site's designs, uploading through your mobile devices, mobile website designs, etc., etc., etc.. It doesn't matter if you're on a Mac, PC, or even a mobile device, you have to update them all, or risk things freezing up.

Pop-ups from BBG website is considered as informative, and not "hacking attempts". Bruce Condello' is paying premium fees for the site to be operating without commercial/ads, in order for us to enjoy a safe and friendly web based environment. I can't stress enough on how much it cost to run a hosting site, storage, and on top of that, web programmers to do updates/upgrades so BBG can be maintained at optimal and robust conditions.

When in doubt, let one of us know in this group. We'll do our best to identify if it's safe or malicious. You can also post a screen capture (for PC, press Alt+Print Screen buttons at the same time), and post it on here. If not, use your phone/camera to capture it, and post it here.

If your system happens to be ladened with viral, malware, trojans, etc., one of us will gladly be of help to you. No cost to you of course, since you are a family member of BBG. Feel free to use BBG as a resting point, as you enjoy the daily posting of great catches, and ease your mind that there's some one here to help with in dealing with technology headaches and annoyances to the best of our collective knowledge.

Trustiness (of course must be gained), helpfulness, and friendliness are our motto.

glad you mentioned this one Leo!!  I have in the past had some of those pop-ups like those!!  I shut it down quick!!  in the future;; I'll contact you for information!!  and thanks for putting it simply!!  LOL;;  you know us red necks aint computer wizards!!

You don't need to be rednecks to be fix computers with a sledge hammers Carl *LOL* And you definitely don't need to be geeks and nerds to consider yourself as electronic wizards (with magic wands and fairy dresses).
