Hi Donald yes I see this fly back a while ago I used a 44 magnum case to cut mine out with, I'll have to try the 30cal case to down size it, what hook did you use, I know you said # 12 . I  fish with UL rods too, Thanks for the post

High Mark, It is a size 10 3x streamer hook. I have tied them in a size 12......but they fish a lot better in size 10.

I use a Daiichi # 1720 size 10.................Don in SC

Hi Donald thanks for the reply.

Don again thank you much. Nice having another seasoned fly tier aboard. When I say another not me included we have many fly tiers here at BBG and I would like to thank you for your participation on the site for sure. You are encouraging me and helping me in my tying challenges and its very appreciated by me and many of our family here at BBG. Thyanks Don and GOOD FISHIN..........

You are welcome Dick, Now that it has gotten cooler, I have a lot more time to do these. I usually tie enough flies in the winter to carry me through spring, summer and most of fall.  When the fishing slows down in the winter, I drag the vise back out and start building up my flies. You will notice my flies are a little crude compared to a lot of other tiers, I tie my flies to be sturdy and effective......not necessarily pretty. What I have been posting here is just the flies that really produce fish for me.....(thanks for the nice comments)   and Good Fishing.......Don in SC
