Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Anyone ever seen a good guide to "scientifically" identify hybrids?  We have a good variety of "pure sunfish" in Eastern Nebraska (bluegill, green sunfish, redears, etc).  So fairly frequently, you catch hybrids that are tough to determine what the mix is.  Thanks in advance & tight lines!

I have no idea Powder but will be monitoring for that interesting topic.

Ah..this is where our veteran pond owners, management crew, and genetic masters (such as Bruce Condello) will come into play. They not only have the scientific part down, they might as well release novels about them.  Give it a few days, you'll have plenty of these pond geneticists chiming in with your scientific data. I wonder if they have DNA marker identification system charted out as well, beside physical identification method.

Your to much Leo

I agree David. Leo's a Wildman!
