Do you love big bluegill?
Hey guys,
I'm getting married June 16th and having my bachelor "party" up at Chippewa Lake in MI. My brother, best man, and I are going up on Thursday and then it's gonna be my girl and me for a few days.
Could you guys help me target some prime spots to try when we go up there?
Here is a DNR topo map of Chippewa Lake
Thanks,
-Craig

Man Im just agog over the whole fishing at the lake with your wife/fiancee. Lori is a great fisher wife, as she encourages me to enjoy it. But to spend time at a lake WITH her fishing, well... it better have A/C, cable and a steak restaurant!
But seriously, congratulations and the best of hopes for you and her.
Congrats buddy! Can't say that I could help you with the selection of the water bodies. But, I can give you suggestion on marriage tips ;-) Don't go fishing too much after you're married. LOL
Hahaha - Leo!
Haha, too much by my definition, or hers?
Body of water is already selected...just looking for some pro advice on spots to target on that map that I linked.
Oh you'll get the definition figured out soon enough - trust me.
Some QUIET LITTLE COVE.....................
Craig are you taking a boat cause I'm not seeing a ramp. If not you may be limited to where you can fish because of private property. I think you will be a little early for the spawn that far up yet. If you knew where the fish spawn they will be in the area I'm thinking the outside weed bed adjacent to there spawning grounds. I tried to find you a better map but all mine are the southeast and southwest Mi.
And by the way I think you must be marrying a remarkable gal to get to fish on your honey moon. Good luck Craig and have fun.
Ya, no kidding Dick. I am blessed.
We will have access to a boat when we're up there, so anywhere on the entire lake could be fished. There's a cottage up there we're using so we will have a place to launch too.
So Dick, are you saying to target on the outsides of the weeds closest to a sandy bottomed shallow area? Do you see any potential good spawning areas to check out? Would that be better than any of the points, submerged islands (not exactly sure what these are called...just a little hump in the middle of some deeper water), steep dropoffs, etc?
Hope you have a good time and catch a few fish while your on your honeymoon. I always like to fish new lakes they can be a challenge but I might add it may be a clear water lake as many lake in Michigan are so you will have to make longer casts. Have fun enjoy and save me some fish who knows I may end up there one day I do fish Michigan 95% of the time.
