BOAT SEAT

I will post a picture in a couple of weeks. My first trip out. Does anyone know where a guy can purchase a frame that 2 seats can be mounted on. This so 2 guys can set in front for spider rigging? I sure won't put casters on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

boat seat

I just mounted a boat seat on a base from an old office chair , with wheels. I hope I will like my idea. That will let me more mobile in the front of the boat. Who says you have to fish from one spot. I need a little exercise.

SPRINGS

DOES ANY OF YOU SCIENTFIC ANGLERS KNOW HOW TO LOCATE UNDERWATER SPRINGS? I UNDERSTAND THAT WATER THAT COMES IN FROM THE SPRING IS A CERTAIN TEMPERATURE YEAR ROUND. SO, THIS MUST MEAN THAT FISH WILL STAY CLOSE TO THE WARMER INCOMING WATER. I DON'T KNOW IF THERE IS ANY WAY OF LOCATING A SPRING, OTHER THAN BY CHANCE.

Hi Ken

So you fish the "Woods"? And more particularly the bottom? Have you ever tried "Coat Hanger" rig straight down thru the wood? Actually heavy copper wire is nicer to use than coat hanger wire.

I've had surprizingly good hooking ratio with a small weedless jig too. I was hesitant to use them but after loosing regular jigs on every cast I finally tried one. The weed guard was wire and stood straight up perpendicular to the hook rather than bake and over the hook.

Lastly I fish a spinner off of a beetle spin with a small floating hook 12" s back. If you hang too much shorten the leader down to 6"s or less.

Love to hear about how you fish the wood!

Charlie

Here I was imagining you catchin' muskies and pikes and pullin' their teeth. And if you're charging the little ones, how do you collect? You ain't takin' it out of grandpa's hide are you?

I got to know about your Fish Dentist name. Do you just pull their teeth or give 'em free checkups or what? I might not even be close to what it means. Mine means bluegills run and hide when I hit the water. I don't know where.

LOL...yes I agree...I dig worms, bait my hook, take the fish off, clean, filet (when we keep em) and fry up the fish....so by your standards I am a true FISHERWOMAN....LOL...oh and I also raise the kids and keep em quiet when they come along...thanks for noticing

Hi Ken, for bottom fishing have you ever tried a porcupine quill?

The last couple of years fishing Patoka at least for me, has not been very good. We catch crappie but most have been 6 to 8 inches long. I would think this year or next should really turn on. Want to try Hovey lake this year. Heard a lot of good things about it.

I mostly fish Hardy because I'm only a couple of miles away. Fish patoka some to. Other places I fish are mostly farm ponds around my area. The last couple of years Hardy has been good for redears. Been catching some warmouths also but they have been on the small side. Crappie have been coming on also. The striper and wipers they stocked a few years ago are starting to get some size to them also. Hardy is becoming a pretty good little fishing lake. Hope it stays that way.
