Grandpa did. I still like to use them, harder to see, but so much easier for a bream to take under. I still have one of his old ones that I keep on my shelf above my computer near the picture. But i seriously doubt he did any sneaking up on any fish. We all know it takes patience, the right bait, the right time, the right place!

I'm not so certain that you're correct on the source of the replica, Tim. ;-) Only Christine Arnold is qualified to confirm or deny that report. She knows more than the rest of us. :-)

Indeed! I believe that is the original mount from which the mold was made for the replica pictured in Jeff Soto's photo "World record Bluegill replica".
These two threads should be run together. I think they are one in the same.
Cool beans!

Awesome photo. I thought Coke used a porcupine quill - I thought I remembered reading that in the Outdoor Life article?

MMMM I think I can find a close up of it :) Sounds like a nice day trip for me! Ok it won't take me a whole day to go and do that, but I'll get an updated photo! I wish I had more time to go fishing. I'm a Red Cross director for two counties. I kept threatening to go at lunch to Lake Logan Martin, but it was too hot and fish weren't biting until almost dark! I would love to have my own mounted fish..guess I'll just settle for the Don't worry be happy bass!

So is the mount still out there somewhere so a close up of it can be posted.

This is fantastic.
