Thanks guys....I may never catch one bigger, so as much time as I have dedicated to catching Fliers I'm sending this one to the Taxidermy King...BBG.com featured member Tim Overbaugh. I look at it like this Mark...Everyday you work is a deposit and everyday you fish is a withdrawal....I don't want to leave this world with a big balance in my living life account. Fortunately when I have to travel, I incorporate fishing in with it so that helps me endure...Let me know if you're ever down near the Outer Banks John, I'm less than an hour from there.....The Carolinas, Georgia and Virginia have clearly got some of the best, if not the best Flier fishing in the country.... Good Luck to all of you on the water!

Good fish Jeff.  Thanks for sharing.  I agree too many hobbies can sure cut into your fishing time especially if you're on a tiger team or two!! Sounds like some brutal hours.  Glad you are good at prioritizing.  There was an old saying at Charleston Naval "all the money in the world won't buy back a lost weekend!"  After about 15 years at the shipyard I tried to adopt that policy as often as possible.  Got hard sometimes as I traveled 12 to 15 times a year for a good portion of my career!  Then one day it's over and it's early to bed and early to rise fish like he... and make up lies!  LOL Glad you have a camera!

Each man finds his path....where you go at the crossroads is critical to the four basic wants in life...Live and Be Healthy, Love and Be Loved, Feel Important and a Little Variety in Life..... Bluegill fishing is my Personal Mastery and I try to mix it with the four wants as often as I can......I wanted to work full time on a Shrimp Boat growing up in Louisiana until my dad did me a huge favor and talked me out of it sighting as soon as it becomes your JOB, the fun will be over...I'm thankful for that advice and think back to those days often!

Sounds awesome Jeff!! I admire your conviction and obvious passion for Bluegill fishing. I enjoy it very much, but tending to the water, the land, and the fish themselves tends to rub a little of the gloss off at times. I did manage 20 or so this evening when I went down to feed the fish, so I suppose it all works out.

I say again Jeff... well done. In all aspects!

Thanks Tony.....I do have a place picked out for this fish......Some weeks more than others.....It starts with a very supportive spouse and my wife Helen is that person of over 25 years for me......Ironically, my commute is 62 miles one way so I spend at least ten hours to get eight and I sometimes work 7 days a week and lots of overtime.......At home I fish from my boat so I always keep it charged and full of gas ready for the next trip....I live only 10 minutes from two of the rivers I fish most frequently......I have a landscaper for yard work so the acre I live on doesn't hold me hostage.....I have a salt water pool so I don't spend time there doing untimely maintenance.....My wife and I set priorities each week and we also have date night once a week since our daughter is grown and on her own......Helen loves to crab so we go often during the Summer but I have located crabbing spots that I can take a fishing pole for Bluegill.....LOL.....The biggest thing for me Tony is I have one hobby and I try to do it to the max instead of a bunch of hobbies or interests that never really climax .....I have coworkers that golf 3 to 4 times a week and that's all they do......Bluegill is an addictive passion for me ...people that know me don't ask me if "I've been fishing", they ask me "What I caught"....my reputation proceeds me......I'll be 48  this November and I'm coming up on 30 years of Military/Government service.....but I have 47 years on a bluegill hole thanks to my dad and my grandfathers.....
