Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

It reached 53 degrees here today, and my thin ice melted off partially, enough so I could cast to open water anyway. I fished for an hour and 15 minutes...ended up with 5 native BG, and 3 HBG.

This was the most notable fish of the day, not because it was big, (because it wasn't), but because this fish was stocked in April of 2012 at 3-4" in length.....now at 8.5".

Well on his way!

Jason, this fish hit a size 12 vertical jig tipped with spikes.....A red "teardrop", with a single black spot.
