I'll be wetting a line somewhere....Catch them all Winter Tony!....It helps pass the time......I'll catch other species but I haven't been able to consistently get Coppernose to hit in cold water here on these rivers.....Not to say you can't catch them but it is by far the most challenging time....Many species will hit in the cold but my gills get lock jaw....

Wow...season over? Some of my best fishing, especially for big fish, is just starting! I have been fishing for gills in open water through the winter for more than 20 years. If it doesn't freeze, I'll be fishin'!

I think we need to create seasonal home bases. This winter, I elect Tony's pond to be a place to camp at..yes? LOL

Nice ear Jeffrey! Sorry that your gill season is ending but I hope you have some good crappie action this winter.

WELL JEFFREY ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END!!!!!!!! I"m looking forward to the down time and get some bugs done, that I need to do. I suppose this week early my new supply of materials will be here and then it's back to tying some experimentals, and especially including a Jim G. pink shrimp TOOTY STYLE. I think that one of his is a great looking bug the way it is , simple and durable.
Really looking forward to Winter this year for some reason , basically lazy I guess , and it gives Reilly , my small dog,  a chance for naps in the afternoon sun up on the bed!!
Also WInter is followed by Spring and it starts all over again only this year coming up will be different. Going back to lake fishing some more as the new old boat is alot easier to get in and out of spots with...........

I sensed the decline today on my favorite Bluegill destination.....As you said previously Tooty it has been a GREAT year and I'm prepared for the Bluegill rest period in Carolina...Looking forward to trying a few other species during the winter to get through the hard water season......Coppernose just don't like the cold and my sunfish population is dominated by them.......

PRETTY FISH JEFFREY! MY season would normally be over a month ago , but keep getting a few nice days here and there. Next Sat. and Sun. are supposed to be sunny with mid 50's temp and may try one more day or two. Just can't quit this year because the ponds have been so good to me ..............

Looks like the season comes pretty much to an end with the slow down, but a pretty last catch nonetheless.
