Those #1 's in the top middle are actually "Jerry's Flies" Spinners.I added the bugs. I added to the Little Joes and Hildys too. (except the #0, that's the way I got it)

I've known of these for years. I first saw them in my dad's tackle box, ages ago in CA. They were the wire form type, with no weight added. We used them for trout back then. I hung hooked salmon eggs off the back of these for lake rainbows, as I recall.
I have half a dozen of the new Hildy's in my box now, and several of his old, vintage models.

Traditionally, they are called "Idaho Spinners," the name I've always known them by. When I first saw a Beetle Spin, my thoughts immediately turned to THESE.

I appreciate you calling me out in these John. As I mentioned to Mr. Sheehan the other day, my winter project is to make these. They are another unheralded "old school" bait, one worth bringing into our bag of tricks.

PS If you really want a good run around, do some googling for another old classic, "Colorado Spinners."
(Hint theyre not the blade of the same name.)

Okay John. You peaked my curiosity. You got to post your catches using these.

Years ago I used a Joe's flies.....potomac coachman......fly and spinner....with a small splitshot 10 or 12 inches above it, was good for trout and reasonably castible  on a 4# line.

This was a David "McScruff' Hutton inspired post.

I like the feature of being able to switch up flies and small jigs. The June Bug on top left has a 64th oz. Jig I tied a Bluejay feather to .

Haven't used some of  them but the Hildebrandt June Bug is a winner for stream Trout ,and the Joes fly 3.5 works trolling and casting in my home lake for Perch and Gills.
