Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

This fish was 18" I didn't weigh her but don't feel like a liar when I say about 3 and 3/4 lbs. A thrill to be wading in the water up to my waist ,wearing old jeans and sneakers and having this encounter . Took a Philips, 'Crippled Killer' .Dual prop top water bait . 12# test ,Quantum Alliance Med.Heavy Spinning Rod ,Penn Silverado Reel .Handled the fish well .I got her inside the weedline parallel casting .

Well done Jim ! Yes ,wading lakes or rivers is just a special way to creep up on ,hook into  and hopefully land fish !

John...we actually wet-waded for largemouths this AM and got 14 fish altogether with several 16 to 19 inch fish. Used Stank X Stix ( like an Senko, only better) and manhandled them out of aquatic primrose on 20 lb braid. Our fish were lighter than your fine fish here.

Wading for them is so cool and challenging! Congrats!
