It appears to be very cloudy of a water body. Looks like the fishes are honed by vibrations and scents. Colors will be the last to play.

The Chickahominy River is in Virginia (east of Richmond) and flows into the James River. Two more Chickahominy River pics are posted below (no fish - river only).

I also briefly fished the Shenandoah River south of Front Royal last year and caught two sunfish - a green colored Bluegill and a Redbreast.

@ John.... You're right about the habitat similarities between white and yellow perch.
Through a serendipitous coincidence, they can be lumped together when it comes to catching.
Quite often, you will catch them both in the same place, with the same equipment..

There are differences in their habits, though, although they are of little consequence to the angler. Only during the spring spawn do these differences make much difference.

Sorry if I repeated any information already provided. I have a bad habit of not reading every single post!

David-The scales on a White Perch are rough exactly like a Yellow Perch .Yes you are right that the White Perch is  actually a member of the Bass family but it seems to have similar habits ,schooling tendencies etc .as Yellow Perch .The classification always perplexed me .

Gotta get more of that color Dick .It got snagged and lost after producing about 20 more fish that day .
