steve those will hold up much better than feathers for sure.- fold that foam and use the hole punch right at the fold  .think a paper doll,you want 2 circles attached like siamese twins.you now have spider bodies.100s out of a sheet of foam.wrap the thread on hook as tight as you can.i use heavier thread.tie on foam and legs it will slip on the hook.lay foam side down a couple drops of gorilla super glue[the best in my opinion as it is a little flexible]let the front of the fly hang over the eye.you will see why

I made a couple poppers tonite.I bought a hole punch after trying some different things to make the discs.I used rubber legs instead of hackle,can't wait to try them.

GGGGGGGGGGGREAT LOOKING POPPERS JIM!!!. I"ll bet you slay em in the spring with these and the black an green spiders look fantastic too. That is one of my favorite color combinations in summer time.
