real nice mess of gills there Troy!! dont forget to come to the rendevou in May!!
Troy, I spent some time talking with a guy about catching Redears while on Kentucky Lake about 10 days ago. He likes to drop shot a large fly tipped tipped with red worms on the "shell beds" in the lake, this should work on Barkley too. He was actually crappie fishing some "shell beds" when I talked with him. He was nice enough to give me a few of his hand tied flies to try out here in Nebraska.
I have been catching quite a few redears in Nebraska in 2-4 ft of water in the last week as well, but a recent cold front has really slowed them down.
I caught these on bottom using redworms and a slip cork. These were caught on Thursday, the bite then turned off for Friday and Saturday. These fish were a bit early IMO, give it two weeks or three weeks and it should be very good. These were in about 4ft of water.
Great looking Red Ears Tony !!!!
Troy, red worms on a drop shot over shell beds?
