Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

This is the last batch of gall floats this season. Harvested all the suitable ones I could find on my place, about a dozen. Can't wait to test them out for real. I put one in water to test it.

This is amazing! I don't suppose you have any videos anywhere of how to make gall floats or corn cob floats?

Hmmmm, that aint good! I see the remains of these plants still standing, I may go and look to see if there ARE any galls on those.

There is no way gauratee the gall fly will infest your plants. Out of the thousands of plants I looked at only a few had the gall. They seemed to be grouped together though. When I found one I would find more.

I bought some Goldenrod sp. seed after all this gall talk.

After researching, I found we have this stuff growing all over the place in ditches. I see it blooming in later summer, its yellow flowers lining the roads. It is in the aster family and there are over 50 varieties of goldenrod alone.

But, Im gonna see if I can get a stand of it growing myself.

Cut my cane last weekend LOFR. I haven't painted any of these I kept them rustic. I find the dark colors contrast well for my eyes. I add paint to the tips of some of my corncob bobbers.
