Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Will it catch fish I don't know. I was tying and it seamed to easy so I added some chenille in the centers to bulk them up a little but maybe simple in this case was better I guess seeing will be believing.

"other adventures"... love it!

all 2lb test. tapered leaded with a bunch of knots in it from some of my other adventures. Not tipped with anything just the red san juan worm with the red ice chenille wrapped in it.

Thats wild, Dick. The same fishing where the fish rejected the SJ worms, they hit the other, more bug like flies.

Very strange - probably something Ive done wrong.

What sort of leader and tipped are you using?

they seem to like your fly!

David I tied them on the 2wt fly rod and threw them out. They do sink so you have to really watch your line and keep it as taught as possible. I still missed more than I caught but these are the first gills out of my pond all year. Funny I didn't catch any perch though that's usually what I catch.

that's brilliant!
How did you fish them?

Did manage 3 small gills this evening the 1st of the year for gills.Although they were small they are still fun on the 2wt.
