Awesome.
Tony...according to the pond owner, he has only stocked hybrids twice...2001 and 2005. If so, I think some of the early giants we caught back in 2006 an 2007 were from the original stocking, and a percentage of them may have died off. The larger specimens from that batch pushed 12 inches, and some of them are starting to look a little rough.
Great fish Jim.....that blue/chrome RF spoon is a top producer here in the Chicagoland area....sometimes I think it's even more crooked than the local politicians.
If those fish aren't on a feeding program, then they look even better than what I first thought. That gives me a good feeling about the possibility of producing a 2 pounder out of our HBG pond. I wonder how old that fish is..........
Amazing what supplemental feeding will accomplish.
Spoon feeding the HYBRID'S!!!!! Looks like HE has been eating RIGHT WELL!!!!!!!
NICE FISH JIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tony...I do have a accurate scale to weigh panfish that is accurate to 1/100 oz. However, during this heat, I really don't care to keep them out of the water very long. I'm guessing maybe 1-6 or 1-7 at the most. A quick measurement and back they go!
I will tell you for sure that your fish are heavier than these because of their benefit from your feeding program. There is no management to this lake whatsoever, but these fish do attain good skeletal length and still maintain a quality WR.
Great Fish Jim!
Wow, he's a chunk! Did you get a weight Jim?
Someday, I wanna' go HBG fishing with you!
