Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

When the water temperatures begin to steadily drop beginning in the Fall I will start looking to size down for those gills.....I had traditionally just used a small plain hook/jig but I was introduced to these a few years back. I don't like a bulky bait when the bites become subtle so these "filament" jigs from the River Critter collection are ideal.....little color and flash and the open hook for my favorite cold water tipping.....live grass shrimp....

Indeed Jim......I remember those beast coppers during terrible weather swings.......great adaptation on your part!

Hey Jeffrey...these patterns saved the day at Richmond Mill two years ago in November when a cold front dropped water temps 8 degrees in a 30 hr period.

These are from the Gronaw River Critter collection so Jim will probably provide an answer Allen as I'm not sure what he makes the collars with........it makes a difference in my opinion.........great little baits!

Allen I don't know and think it's a good question but it almost looks like sparkle braid to me and If not I think sparkle braid would work.

If y'all don't mind me asking, what's the body material?  Rubber leg material I have, but I can't quite make out thee body.

Jeffrey...these patterns produced very well for me at Richmond Mill Lake two years ago during a horrid cold front in November. Red legs far outproduced all other colors.
