David, I use the squirrel body dubbing  it is more course, and works well in the dubbing loop!

When I tie this in 8 3x long I use Angora Goat dubbing just because it is longer!!!!! This give the body breathing action too along with a maribou tail!!! The wraps of lead wire are just behind the eye so as you stip it in the head come up and on the pause it dive head first!!! Be ready for the hit on the pause!!!!

Excellent fly! Will try something like this. Hope the dark body and shimmering chenille will attract the buggers.

I tie something similar for steelhead and salmon but use a 1/8 oz jig head painted red and tie a black wooly bugger body to the shank, add a little red or green flash and there you go. Deadly for low clear water!
