Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Went out for a couple hours during the Daytona 500 rain delay and caught eleven Gills with this 9 inch gill the best.....Water temperatures up to 54 degrees and these gills hit a Sexy Shad Mini Crank.......

Thanks guys......At 4:15 this morning when the alarm clock whistled.....I was second guessing my decision to stay up until 1:15 A.M. to see the race through, but it was a good race and a better fish fry.......

Careful Steve don't get in a habit you can't break.

Thanks Steve, I'll try to catch one for you.....We're on the chilly side today, but I'm relentless once I catch a few gills......Just makes the "What Ifs" harder to answer from my desk!

Good fishing Jeffrey. Sure wish I could go with you. I do feel a little poorly  today......maybe I'll have to call in sick at work......

Going to see if these fish are still active this afternoon and get a water temperature trend.......Hope we're holding after the last two nights in the 20s....Only one way to find out....Got to give it a whirl!

Warm IS a good thing! We've had a few warm days, but will need a few more before the fish get active. I have not been able to fish since January, but what I've heard, the fish are still deep here. Hoping for a warm, windless non working weekend soon!

Wind has been up nearly the entire week Steve....Forces a lot of water level changes back and forth which can shut down the fish,  but I believe the water temperature spike from the warm air temps this past week was the difference.....Remember, your North Carolina license is good over here too!!

Glad to see you got out there today Jeffrey. Past 3 days have been really windy here. See where a couple of guys got blown out of their canoes/kayaks. The area you fish looks to be a fishing paradise. Keep those photos coming.
